Driver dies after striking tree in Alameda

A driver died after crashing into a tree in Alameda last Sunday, according to Alameda Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. on December 31st. Alameda police officers responded to a report of a collision on the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway, near the Posey Tube.

When officers arrived, they found an adult with major injuries. The person succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Police say they believe the driver lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree, but the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
