Light rainfall in the form of scattered showers was expected to hit the Bay Area on Tuesday morning though a more widespread, moderate series of rain bands was forecast for Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday’s forecast called for light rain with most of it coming before 10 a.m. Less than one-tenth of an inch was predicted for most of the region south of the Golden Gate Bridge, including the South Bay and inland sections of the East Bay.

The rainfall that does come on Tuesday will be in the form of scattered, brief showers.

Who’s ready for a little beneficial rainfall?! Through midweek we will see a couple of disturbances that will bring rounds of scattered light-to-moderate rainfall across the region. Mostly confined to northern areas today, but better chances for everyone else Wednesday AM.#CAwx pic.twitter.com/hvyZaiMen8
