Oakland: Person shot and killed in city’s 6th homicide of 2024

Antioch police officers found 43-year-old Junior Rospigliosi, of Antioch, down with multiple gunshot wounds when they responded to the 900 block of Fitzuren Road about 8:18 p.m. on Jan. 10, police Lt. Rick Martin said in a statement.  He died at the scene.

The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office released Rospigliosi’s identity.

Police have not made an arrest, nor have they said what they thing the motive may have been. Police also have not responded to several inquiries, including whether they have determined what the motive may have been.

The homicide was the first one in Antioch in 2024. Police investigated 11 homicides in the city in 2023.
