A shooting at a farmworker housing development in Half Moon Bay reportedly left one injured Saturday night.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s office said a shooting occurred at about 7:00 p.m. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting near Tea Rd. and Pear Orchard Road, just south of Half Moon Bay.

The shooting occurred at the Moonridge Housing Community apartments on 2001 Miramontes Point Road. According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, a male victim was found at the scene and taken to a local hospital with injuries. MidPen Housing, the company that operates Moonridge, describes the building as “affordable housing for farmworker families.”
Detectives currently believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
The shooting occurred just days before the one-year anniversary of the largest mass shooting in the history of San Mateo County, when seven farmworkers were shot and killed at two mushroom farms in Half Moon Bay. The city is both a tourist destination and an agricultural hotspot.
A memorial to honor the victims of last year’s shooting was scheduled to take place Sunday afternoon at the Boys & Girls Club in Half Moon Bay.
