PALO ALTO — Police said they’re searching for three suspects after they allegedly broke into an occupied Palo Alto home on Friday evening.

The burglary was reported around 7:30 p.m. from a woman housesitting for a friend at a home on Center Drive. She said she heard the sound of voices in the backyard, then the sound of glass breaking.

She encountered one of the suspects in the living room when she went to investigate. According to authorities, she returned to a bedroom, locked the door and called police.

The suspects, three men, fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan before police arrived, according to surveillance footage.  Police said they broke a latch on the side gate to enter the backyard. They were at the home for just three minutes.
