Valentine’s Day is coming up, and Saratoga has lots of sweets for your sweet.

Newly elected Mayor Yan Zhao sends this sweet message: “As the mayor of our wonderful city, I am honored to extend my wishes for a wonderful new year. We have an extraordinary community, and I thank all the exceptional individuals who contribute to the fabric of our city.”

Flowers from Floral Fantasia in the Buy and Save center are great for your valentine, but as owner Merlita Patio says, “Flowers are the perfect gift all year-round that send a special message of care, whatever the occasion.”

Merlita creates unique arrangements, and you can specify your favorite flowers to include. Cut flowers are available, as are deliveries. 14440 Big Basin, 408-741-3490. www.floralfantasia.com

A romantic dinner is always a wonderful way to celebrate, and La Fondue is a great place for that. Sharing a pot of cheese or broth and dipping into chocolate is an intimate and relaxing dining experience. 14550 Big Basin Way, 408-886-4208. Lafondue.com

The Echo Shop has lots of Valentine-themed treasures for sale. The all-donations shop is a real gem in the Village. Shop manager Liza Hudepohl says, “We’re an elegant, all-volunteer resale shop that since 1961 has turned donated clothes, antiques, jewelry and more into meals for the hungry, emergency housing for those fleeing domestic violence, children’s literacy programs, cancer patient support and other needed services for our community.” 14554 Big Basin Way, 408-867-3995.

If your Valentine prefers pampering at home, I can recommend Van’s Nails. She will come to your home for a manicure and pedicure, and she is terrific. 408-799-9794.
