The rain was expected to be heaviest in the morning hours, just in time for the commute. San Francisco and Oakland both received about one-tenth of an inch of rain between 6 and 7 a.m., according to the NWS. The rain filtered down to San Jose around 7 a.m.

According to a NWS morning bulletin, the heavy rainfall was expected to come to a close around 10 a.m. but lingering showers could last into the evening.
