Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce eclipsed Jerry Rice’s longstanding record for postseason receptions as he helped lead Kansas City back to the Super Bowl.
To beat Baltimore, Kelce hauled in 11 catches for 116 yards in a touchdown. He now has 156 career postseason receptions, surpassing Jerry Rice’s 151.
Rice, the greatest wide receiver of all time, holds so many records that anytime one is broken, it’s notable.
Kelce recorded 156 catches in 21 postseason games — eight fewer than Rice played to earn the record. He has averaged 7.42 catches per game as Patrick Mahomes’ go-to weapon. Mahomes and Kelce are heading to their fourth Super Bowl in the past five years after beating the Ravens 17-10.

Rice won three Super Bowls in his Hall of Fame career. He still owns the most postseason touchdowns (22) and yards (2,245) in NFL history. Kelce is in second place in both of those categories; he’d catch Rice with three more touchdown catches but is more than 400 yards shy of Rice.
Rice also holds the NFL record for regular season receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns and yards from scrimmage.
