Two brothers were sentenced to federal prison Monday for their involvement in the robbery of a marijuana dealer in San Bernardino in which the dealer died of gunshot wounds, the U.S. Justice Department said.

On July 31, 2021, Dillion Jones, a 20-year-old from San Bernardino, placed an order with the victim for one pound of marijuana. Jones along with his cousins Martrell Patrick Shaw, a 20-year-old from San Bernardino, and Rontrell Shaw, a 22-year-old from San Bernardino, planned to rob the victim at gunpoint, said a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Once the victim arrived at the established drug deal location in San Bernardino, Martrell Shaw and Jones robbed him at gunpoint and one of the robbers shot twice, striking the victim in the neck and torso, prosecutors said.

Martrell Shaw and Jones then stole the marijuana and gun belonging to the victim, who later died from the gunshot wounds he suffered, the news release said.
