The collision happened about 11:17 p.m. after the person ended up on the track, BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said. Authorities did not identify the person Wednesday morning, pending notification of relatives.

The station is one of BART’s transfer stations and trains running on multiple lines go through it. BART shut them down, meaning service from Antioch and Richmond to San Francisco International Airport and Millbrae and from Richmond to Berryessa all were interrupted.

Service resumed just before midnight.

BART police were investigating but officials said there was no sign of foul play.
