CHICO — Two people were arrested in connection to a robbery that took place late Wednesday at the 76 gas station located at 481 East Ave.

Michael Lujan, 44, is accused of robbing the gas station and was placed under arrest. Michelle Adamski, 40, is accused of driving Lujan away from the scene of the crime and was arrested on suspicion of accessory after the fact.

Lujan allegedly motioned to the gas station clerk that he was carrying a firearm, and after police say after robbing the gas station around 11:15 p.m. he drove with Adamski west on East Avenue in a white Ford Fusion, according to a press release from the Chico Police Department.

Chico police were provided with a license plate number of the suspected robbers and officers located the vehicle traveling south on Highway 99 near the Skyway.

Police officers, assisted by the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the California Highway Patrol, conducted what the release called “a high-risk vehicle enforcement stop” near Southgate Avenue and Highway 99. Both occupants in the vehicle were detained.

Both Lujan and Adamski were booked into the Butte County Jail.
