1 arrested after Nord Avenue stabbing

CHICO — Police arrested a man they suspect to have been involved in a stabbing Thursday night at Nord Avenue in Chico.

Dangelo Maurice Daniels, 37, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Butte County Jail.

According to a press release issued Friday by the Chico Police Department, a call came in at around 7:10 p.m. Thursday from an apartment complex at the 700 block of Nord Avenue where the stabbing took place. Upon the officers’ arrival, the person attacked had already been taken to a local medical facility.

Daniels was allegedly identified by witnesses at the scene, the release said. Nearby apartments were evacuated in relation to the incident.

The release went on to say that the person who was stabbed was reported in stable condition as of Friday and will likely survive.
