CHICO — In a fitting turn of the calendar, Chico Noon Rotary’s Sunday Funday Burrito Brunch fell on Cinco de Mayo, and hundreds of locals celebrated accordingly at Manzanita Place.

The club annually hosts a morning event the first Sunday of May to raise funds for its programs and projects in the community. Previously an omelet brunch inside the Elks Lodge, Rotary switched to breakfast burritos outdoors during the pandemic, and the new tradition clicked.

Attendees not only got a meal but also family activities including face painting, balloon animals and a petting zoo.
