PARADISE — The Paradise Animal Shelter Helpers announced a new program on Friday that allows recyclers to donate their California Redemption Value refund directly to the shelter.

According to a press release issued by PASH, Cans for Cats and Canines is the name of the program, and it runs through both the Paradise Animal Shelter and Guido’s Recycling, which the release said is currently the only redemption center in the north half of Butte County.

“This is a great way to both support the Ridge and conserve resources”, said Steve Rodowick, PASH board member and retired Butte County recycling coordinator. “We will even pick up your cleaned and separated CRV recycling from the Ridge by appointment if you lack transportation.”

Guido’s is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

The release said donated funds will go toward shelter upgrades as well as the spay and neuter program and other animal welfare services.
