Deputies and firefighters were called to Airport Street and Yale Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday for a report of a trailer on fire, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The flames quickly spread to a parked vehicle and an adjacent building that houses several business storage units.

Firefighters contained the blaze, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported.

“Initial damage estimates are believed to be in the tens of thousands of dollars,” the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies, along with investigators from Cal Fire and the Coastiside Fire Protection District, identified a 29-year-old Moss Beach man as a suspect in the case. He was arrested around 8:30 a.m. Saturday and booked into county jail on a charge of arson.

Anyone with information related to the case can contact the sheriff’s office at 800-547-2700.
