OROVILLE — Two wildfires broke out Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of Oroville, both prompting evacuations.

The June Fire was burning near the 400 block of Four Junes Way in the Palermo area, while the Rocky Fire was burning near the Enterprise Boat ramp in Oroville where the South Fork of the Feather River feeds into Lake Oroville.

As of 5 p.m., the June Fire was at 745 acres and the Rocky Fire was at three acres, spreading more slowly.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders for the area south and east of Four Junes Way and multiple areas of Honcut. For the Rocky Fire, evacuations were in place for the Lumpkin Road and Enterprise Road area. There are spot fires possibly up to a quarter mile out in front of the fire towards Lumpkin.

Additional evacuation orders are expected, according to emergency alerts from the app Watch Duty. A map of the evacuation areas is available on buttecountygis.maps.arcgis.com.
