CHICO — Tuesday was forecast to be the hottest day of the week with a high of 108 degrees, pushing many to the nearest water.

Chico’s Bear Hole had already seen a fair amount of traffic by noon Tuesday and one group took turns jumping in to cool off.

Big Chico Creek was still cool from runoff in the mountains and a light breeze blew between the rocky canyon, making for the perfect spot to swim.

Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-90s in the valley this weekend.
