Phony fire marshal steals $48,000 from Campbell business

July 15

GRAND THEFT: 12:56 p.m. in the 800 block of Almarida Drive. The victim left his vehicle unlocked overnight and his wallet, clothes and credit cards were stolen. The suspect charged his credit card.

CHILD ABUSE, DUI: 12:27 a.m. at Salmar and Harrison avenues. A man was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop and found to be DUI. A 2-year-old was in the car.

VEHICLE THEFT: 3 p.m. at Michael Drive. and Union Avenue. A red 2021 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen.

July 16

ROBBERY, BATTERY: 4:24 a.m. in the 1200 block of Camden Avenue. A pimp grabbed the victim by the arm and grabbed the phone from her hand.

BURGLARY: 3:40 a.m. in the 100 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A man forced entry into a building by breaking a glass door, then forced entry into another door leading to an office area, where he stole several items before fleeing.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 9:31 p.m. in the 00 block of West Hamilton Avenue. A man was causing a disturbance and refused to leave the premises. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself or others. He also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for $5,000 out of San Jose for trespassing.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BURGLARY TOOLS, TEAR GAS WEAPON: 1:57 a.m. in the  2200 block of Winchester Boulevard. A woman and a man were going through recycling. The man had a $50,000 warrant out of San Jose and was in possession of burglary tools and property not belonging to him. The woman was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and peppery spray while being a convicted felon.

BURGLARY, GRAND THEFT: 3:48 a.m. in the 700 block of West Hamilton Avenue. Three suspects forced entry through the rear of a business. A register containing approximately $50 in coins was stolen.

July 18

GRAND THEFT:  2500 block of Winchester Boulevard. Someone stole a rooster sculpture from in front of a business.

RETAIL THEFT: In the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Three women took merchandise from a store in their bags.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: 6:38 p.m. at Pollard Road and Peachtree Court: Someone drove toward the victim and attempted to strike him with a silver Chevrolet Cruze.

ROBBERY: In the  600 block of East Campbell Avenue. Three victims were confronted by three suspects who accused them of being involved in gang activity. One suspect struck the victims, causing visible injury, and stole cash and a purse from them.

DUI: at South Winchester Boulevard and East Rincon Avenue. A woman was stopped for driving with no headlights on during hours of darkness and was found to be DUI.

July 19

FRAUD, GRAND THEFT: in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. Someone impersonated a fire marshal and told an employee they had a $50,000 fine to be paid. The employee gave $48,307 in cash to the suspect

PETTY THEFT: 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. The victim had her wallet stolen and noticed her credit cards from her wallet were used for approximately $2,500.

VEHICLE THEFT: 1200 block of White Oaks Road. Someone rented a Chevrolet Silverado truck for one day and did not return it by the due date.

ROBBERY, BATTERY WITH SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, CHILD ABUSE: in the 100 block of Llewellyn Avenue. The suspect physically assaulted two victims. One victim suffered cuts requiring stitches, and the other’s foot was injured attempting to assist the first victim. The suspect took the first victim’s phone, throwing it to the ground, and threatened to kill both victims. The suspect is the restrained party in a peaceful contact order with the victims. The suspect fled prior to law enforcement arrival.

July 20

BURGLARY: 7 p.m. in the 1300 block of Abbott Avenue.  Someone burglarized the victim’s home.

DUI, POSSESSION OF OVER 1 OZ OF MARIJUANA: in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was found to be DUI. He was also in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana.

PETTY THEFT: in the  200 block of Hollis Avenue. A bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a residence.
