De La Salle didn’t look at all out of place while facing the NFL Academy in North London.

Taking on the upstart two-year-old international program, the Spartans certainly looked the part of the team used to playing American football. De La Salle handled NFL Academy quite easily, going up 21-0 at the half and cruising to a 31-9 win.

The game showcased the relative inexperience of the NFL Academy’s players. De La Salle, the No. 1 team in the Bay Area News Group Top 25, utilized its patented veer offense to great success, rushing for four touchdowns.

Dominic Kelley and Derrick Blanche Jr. each rushed for two scores, and Justin Uribarri nailed a 38-yard field goal for the Spartans.

NFL Academy got on the board late in the game with a 31-yard field goal by Liam Dineen, then scored its lone touchdown on the last play of the game, a pass by backup quarterback Bobby Bridges that deflected off a De La Salle player’s cleat and was caught by NFL Academy receiver Rafael Varona-Blakstad.

De La Salle remained perfect this season, improving to 6-0 with the win.
