SAN JOSE — A 31-year-old woman was kidnapped early Saturday morning, and police are asking for the public’s help to locate her.

Around 2 a.m., Acela Pineda Silva was a passenger in a vehicle that was stolen by several people around North Fifth and St. John streets, according to the San Jose Police Department.

While the vehicle was found, Silva and at least one of the suspected kidnappers are still unaccounted for, authorities said. It’s unclear how many people were involved in the carjacking, which occurred in the blocks between San Jose City Hall and St. James Park.

SJPD described Silva on social media as a “Hispanic female with long black hair, approximately 5’ 09” tall and 150 lbs,” who was last seen wearing a black sweater and black skirt.

Police ask anyone who sees the victim, who is at risk, to contact 911. Tips about Silva’s whereabouts can also be shared by calling 408-537-1522.
