Butte County seeking public input on evacuation map

OROVILLE — Butte County is taking another look at its evacuation plan and in turn is asking for feedback from the public.

The county announced Tuesday that it would be holding a series of meetings for the public to provide input on how this update should come to fruition.

According to the announcement, many of the county’s rural areas will be key focus points for the update including Forest Ranch, Butte Meadows, the upper Paradise ridge, East Oroville, Cherokee, Cohasset, Richardson Springs, Palermo, Berry Creek and more.

As of Wednesday, 11 meetings are scheduled throughout the county all of which residents are being invited to sit in on and make their voices heard. Each meeting is scheduled for two hours.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Forest Ranch and Butte Meadows: 12:15 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Forest Ranch Charter School, 15815 Cedar Creek Road.

Upper Paradise ridge: 6 p.m. Monday, April 29 at the Magalia Community Center, 13917 South Park Drive.

East Oroville and Cherokee: 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at the Southside Community Center: 2959 Lower Wyandotte Road.

Cohasset and Richardson Springs: 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Cohasset Community Center, 11 Maple Creek Ranch Road.

Palermo and Bangor: 5 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Bangor Community Hall, 7500 Oro Bangor Highway.

Butte Creek and Butte Valley: 6 p.m. Monday, May 13 at the Butte College-Allied Health North Building, 3536 Butte Campus Drive – Room 118A.

Forbestown, Robinson Mill and Clipper Mills: 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 at Forbestown Hall, 19100 New York Flat Road.

Berry Creek: 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 17 at the Berry Creek Community CHurch, 1461 Bald Rock Road.

Concow and Yankee Hill: 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the HIstoric Schoolhouse, 11666 Concow Road.

Hurleton and Feather Falls: 4 p.m. Wednesday, may 22 at the Gold Flake Saloon and Cafe, 1301 Lumpkin Road.

Biggs: 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at the City of Biggs Council Chambers, 3016 Sixth Street.
