Chico officers honored in annual award ceremony

The Chico Police Department announced awards for six staff Thursday at its 2023 special recognition ceremony at Chico Neighborhood Church.

The annual “Of the Year” awards were given based on work in 2023, and recipients include:

• Tucker Stimac, Police Officer of the Year

• Victoria Pinasco, Dispatcher of the Year

• Christina DeGeorge, Civilian Employee of the Year

• Alicia Manley, Animal Services Employee of the Year

• Bud Chauvin, Chaplain of the Year

• John Carver, VIP of the Year

Police officers Brent Farris, Nicolo Distefano and Chris Sullivan received three Meritorious Unit Awards and three Lifesaving Medals for providing emergency aide to a person with a gunshot wound.
