CHICO — Aviation aficionados will get up-close looks at dozens of planes Saturday at the Chico Air Museum Open House and Fly-In.
The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 165 Ryan Ave. by the Chico Regional Airport, followed by a swing-themed hangar dance with live music planned in the evening. Attending the fly-in is free; admission to the dance (7-9 p.m., after an hour of lessons) is $5.
At the fly-in, organizers say, visitors can walk around planes and speak with pilots — plus experience a virtual reality trainer utilized by the U.S. Air Force. The museum features more than 20 aircraft and dozens of exhibits.
