Valentine’s Day is coming up, and Los Gatos has sweets for your sweet.

Los Gatos’s own Deux Cranes has designed some uniquely delicious Valentine’s chocolates. Wait until you taste the pistachio rose or the dark chocolate with Japanese citrus and smoked sea salt. Owner Michiko Marion-Kibbey and her staff are creating these just in time for Valentine’s Day. The French-trained chocolatier creates handcrafted bonbons, cookies, jellies, and chocolate bars with a Japanese flair. The business is expanding, and products can be found in retailers around the country. 408-340-5592, 15531 Union Ave., deuxcranes.com.

Flowers from Bunches in Los Gatos are great for Valentine’s Day or any occasion. The ladies at Bunches create unique arrangements, and you can specify your favorite flowers to include. Cut flowers are available, as are deliveries. Bunches, 14½ Santa Cruz Ave., 408-395-5451, Buncheslosgatos.com.

For a Valentine’s date night at the movies, the Los Gatos Theatre has a large auditorium with 4K resolution and Dolby 7.1 digital sound, and the upstairs lounge theater features comfortable reclining seats. You can get traditional cinema concession favorites as well as mini burgers, personal pizzas, chicken wings and tenders along with wine, beer and cocktails. www.cineluxtheatres.com/cinelux-los-gatos-theatre

Give your Valentine a kitchen break with food at or from the Golden Triangle Thai restaurant. Their chicken lettuce wraps and sauteed eggplant are the best I’ve eaten since Thailand. If you choose to eat in, you can bring your own beer and wine with no corkage fee. 217 N. Santa Cruz Ave., 408-402-5092.

For those who really love Los Gatos, the Discover Los(t) Gatos app will give you a free series of self-guided walking tours. Town Historian Alan Feinberg has created this app to share a historical perspective of our town. Search for “Discover LOST Gatos” in your app store.

For those who’d love some pampering, with a gift certificate from The Spa Los Gatos, your valentine can choose from a wide variety of facials, massage and other treatments. 100 S. Santa Cruz Ave., 408-354-5901, www.thespalosgatos.com.

The 49ers took one step closer to the Super Bowl last weekend, but regardless of who makes it to the big game on Feb. 11, it’s a good excuse to gather around good food. To that end, placing an order for Souper Bowl Sunday is a win. For $175, a basket with everything homemade or handmade will be delivered on game day:  bowls created by clay artists (retail $50 each), five kinds of soup, bread, cake, wine and peanut butter truffles for three to four fans. Call or text Ellen Evans at 408-455-3449. Proceeds go to Arrowmont School of Art and Craft and the San Jose Pi Beta Phi Alum Club.

Another food-based event is the 21st annual Los Gatos Rotary Crab Fest and Auction, set for Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. at is Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, 13601 Saratoga Ave. With crab hard to come by this year, you can eat all you want and know you’re helping fund Rotary’s good works.  www.losgatosrotary.org

Sweet news coming from KCAT, Channel 15. In addition to coverage of town events and video services to Los Gatos High School, KCAT Executive Director Melissa Toren says she is “super excited about plans for 2024, which include offering TV dance parties and community bingo.”
