Oakland: 2-year-old allegedly kidnapped, later found safe in San Leandro

OAKLAND — A man was taken into custody Tuesday after a 2-year-old child was allegedly kidnapped in Oakland, according to authorities.

The incident was reported at 3 p.m., when officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 85th Avenue. A woman told officers that her vehicle was stolen with her 2-year-old inside by an unknown man.

The child was later found safe in the city of San Leandro. Police didn’t immediately share details into how the child was found.
