CHICO — Following the footsteps of grandma and great-grandma, budding entrepreneurs Sofia Tica, 7, and little sister Marija Tica, 5, set up a small business Saturday at the Chico Marketplace selling handmade rubber band necklaces, charms and window art.

They joined a total of 11 business participating at the Chico Marketplace Biz Kidz Showcase on Saturday where kids 6-17 buffed up their best creations to be sold to real customers.

Sofia’s favorite creation, an eight-layer bubblegum pink and blue bracelet, was presented at their business booth in the middle of the mall, named Sisterscraft Creations.

“We came up with it together as a family,” said Marija.

The two’s parents, Jovan Tica and Dragana Tica, said their business makes them third generation entrepreneurs following a lineage of restaurateurs.
