Was Brittany Mahomes being a diva in new viral video? Or just asking for directions?

Brittany Mahomes is once again facing allegations of engaging in diva-like behavior and of acting “high and mighty” around regular people assigned to attend to her needs.

The latest mini-controversy involving the wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes comes from a viral video moment, in which she is seen interacting with an employee at Baltimore’s M&T Stadium. On Sunday, her husband’s Kansas City Chiefs defeated the hometown Ravens 17-10 to advance to the Super Bowl, where they will face the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11.

In a TikTok video posted by CBS, Brittany Mahomes is seen walking with her husband in a hallway at the stadium after the game. She is seen stopping, turning to an employee and asking, “Where do we go from here?”

To some on social media, Brittany’s perceived offense comes from her direct, even brusque tone and her distinctive hand gesture. She twirls her finger in a circle, as if to indicate she might be aggrieved that she and her husband could be walking in circles.

As the Daily Mail pointed out, there is no clear indication that Brittany Mahomes offended the employee. Still, people online found reasons to call her out.

“Mahomes wife needs to get up off her high horse,” wrote one user, the Daily Mail said.

Another posted: “It’s the where do we go from here with the finger twirl for me.”

“She is too much … So extra,” another person said, according to the Daily Mail.

However, other users jumped to Brittany Mahomes’ defense, saying that she was just asking the employee to clarify that they were going in the right direction.

“Not a Mahomes celebrity fan, but wife did nothing rude in the video,” one person said, according to the Daily Mail. “She simply asked a question. Much ado about nothing.”

“Honest question can someone explain to me how Brittany twirling her finger at an employee rude?” another person asked. “I mean she’s not snapping her fingers’.

Maybe it’s inevitable that Brittany Mahomes has become a target for criticism and allegations that she thinks she’s superior to others, because she’s the wife of one of America’s star quarterbacks.

People can be envious, especially of the attractive, high-profile wives and girlfriends of their favorite male sports stars. Brittany Mahomes also has reached a new level of celebrity as the new BFF of pop mega-star Taylor Swift. The two women are frequently photographed together, dining out in New York City or watching Chiefs games from luxury suites in various stadiums. Mahomes cheers on her husband, while Swift looks elated and proud anytime her tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce does something spectacular on the field.

But envy aside, Brittany Mahomes has been called out for rude behavior before.

In November, a server at a West Hollywood hotel took aim at Brittany Mahomes for not tipping any of the staff during a days-long stay, the Daily Mail and Page Six reported.

TikTok user Jessica O’Connor, a former employee of 1 Hotel West Hollywood, recalled the former soccer star staying at the hotel when she was in town to shop for a dress for her 2022 Hawaiian wedding to Mahomes.

O’Connor specifically called out Mahomes for neglecting to leave a tip for her on a $130 bill at the hotel. The self-described server, barista and bartender also claimed that Brittany Mahomes didn’t tip other employees during the entirety of her stay.

“My first interaction with her, she ran up over a $100 tab. She was with her whole posse — Patrick was not there — but I believe their tab was well over $100, maybe $130,” O’Connor said. “$0 tip.”
