Three injured in West San Jose apartment fire

SAN JOSE – Three people suffered minor injuries in a two-alarm fire Wednesday morning in West San Jose, authorities said.

The blaze broke out around 10:10 a.m., at a two-story apartment complex in the 1100 block of Oakmont Drive, said San Jose Fire Department spokesperson Jake Pisani.

Crews called a second alarm around 10:15 a.m., and had the fire under control by 10:41 a.m., Pisani said.

Pisani said three residents suffered minor injuries, but they declined to be taken to the hospital.

Three apartments were damaged in the fire.

Pisani said the blaze displaced a total of seven residents, along with two small pets – a cat and a lizard. The American Red Cross is providing support to the residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
